Woman Refused to Leave Man’s Home: Bethel PD

The man had taken the women in three months earlier after finding her disheveled on the side of the road.

BETHEL, CT — A woman is being held in custody after refusing to leave a home where a Good Samaritan had taken her in months earlier, The News Times has reported.

Stacey Bencivengo, 50, was asked to leave the home on Turkey Plain Road by police who were called by the home's owner. The homeowner, who has not been identified, told police he took the women in three months ago after finding her disheveled on the side of the road.

Police say that Bencivengo gave them a false name when they first arrived at the home last week to confront her.
