Working For A Better Bethel

We, Gabriela Hernandez, Diana Naddeo, and Cathy Schaefer, are the 2023 Bethel Democratic candidates for Board of Education. We are committed to building upon the progress of the current Board of Education, Dr. Carver and the faculty of Bethel Public Schools for continued educational excellence and readiness of Bethel students. Cathy Schaefer has been a member of the Board for the past five years and is running for reelection. Diana Naddeo and Gabriela Hernandez are hoping to join her on the Board as newly elected members.

Our objectives include:

For Bethel Public Schools to receive appropriate funding to provide high-quality education for local students.

Protect Bethel from regressive initiatives such as book-banning that have caused controversy in neighboring towns.

Advocating for teachers, students and their families. We advocate for a safe, healthy and appropriate learning environment for all.

Uphold the Mission, Core Beliefs, Equity Statement and strategic plan adopted by the Bethel Board of Education and BPS.

Accountability for all stakeholders while implementing practical logical solutions in day to day classroom and school life.

We are asking for your vote to help us realize our vision of working together for a better Bethel. Your vote for Democratic candidates will support a bright and inclusive educational future for our students. A future where they are safe to develop and grow in schools where creative problem solving and critical thinking skills are at the forefront of educational experiences. A future where students learn to take academic risks and are prepared with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in our multicultural, multilingual world.

On November 7, Election Day, we invite Bethel residents to vote for us, as well as the rest of the Democratic ticket on ROW A. Polls are open from 6am - 8pm.
