Young Bethel Theater Students Present Irish Folktale on Saturday

Theater students from Bethel tell the tale of 'The Rescue of Queen Maeve,' an original play performed on Sat., April 13 at the GDICC.

BETHEL, CT — Bethel children's theater students of the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Foundation bring fairy tales to life in "The Rescue of Queen Maeve," an original play based upon Irish folklore written and directed by Wendy Ann Mitchell.

The play stars theater students from Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, New Milford, New Fairfield ranging in age from 3 - 11 years old who will tell the story through song and dance. The production takes place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center (GDICC), 6 Lake Ave., Danbury, Conn.

During intermission, attendees will be treated to a musical mini concert performed by Nora Hanley and her Irish music students.

All proceeds will go to benefit the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve Irish culture in out community through language, music, and theater classes.

Tickets are $12 for adults 18-61, $10 for seniors age 62+ up, $10 $6 for kids ages 3-12. Children under 3 are free. Purchase tickets on Eventbrite by clicking here.
