Zoners Consider More Luxury Apartments in Bethel

A few of those would be categorized as affordable housing.

BETHEL, CT —The Planning and Zoning Commission is considering a proposalfor another set of luxury apartments downtown, the News-Times is reporting.

The developers of The Grand have proposed to expand that complex, behind Dolan Plaza on Grand Street, to a second building of 26 one- and two bedroom apartments. A few of those would be categorized as affordable housing.

Rent would be the same in the new building as in the existing one: $1,650 a month for a one-bedroom apartment, $1,975 for a two-bedroom, and $2,150 for a two-bedroom with a den.

A public hearing on the plan, begun last week, was continued to 7 p.m. April 9 in Room D of the municipal center.
