BETHANY, CT — Recent death notices from Bethany and Woodbridge.

Martin Ledewitz, 80, of Woodbridge, died Aug. 31, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Frances "Cissi" Weiner Ledewitz, four children and six grandchildren.

Salvatore Santo Petruzzello, 77, of Woodbridge, died Aug. 5, 2026. He worked driving delivery trucks before spending 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service, walking seven to 10 miles a day delivering mail. He was a longtime member of the Ansonia Rod & Gun Club, serving nearly five years as vice president. He is survived by his wife, Agnes (Coppola) Petruzzello, and three daughters.

Madeline (Razza) Slicer, 89, of Bethany, died July 30, 2026. A dedicated educator, she taught seventh and eighth grade science. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Slicer.

Robert G. Smith, 95, of Bethany, died June 24, 2026. He graduated from Meriden High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army, working in Army intelligence at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, before returning to teach in Meriden and Cheshire schools for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Irene, two children and three grandchildren.
