Winter Cartwright's proposed zoning text amendment would establish shared community residential housing as a use allowed by permit. The proposal includes sober or recovery housing, transitional housing, veterans housing and supportive housing.

A separate amendment proposed by the commission concerns zoning regulations for family and group child care homes. Both amendments also appear on the commission's work session agenda for consideration.

Under new business, the commission is scheduled to take up Deanna Birdsong's application for a special exception permit to install a freestanding sign at 264 Amity Road.

Other work session items include regional planning and zoning enforcement reports and meeting dates for January 2027 through January 2028.
