2nd-Grader's Dream Comes True: He Talked To 'A Boy Named Boomer'
Levi Adinolfi called WFAN 17 times before NFL legend Boomer Esiason picked up and spoke to the Tisko student who read "A Boy Named Boomer."

BRANFORD, CT — It started with a book and ended with a boy speaking to a sports idol on the radio.
Levi Adinolfi is a second-grader at Tisko Elementary School in Branford.
His teacher Deborah Bliven gave him the book “A Boy Named Boomer” for independent reading.

He didn't like it. He loved it. And then he read it to the family.
"I read it to my mom and dad I loved it so much," Levi told Patch.

Meanwhile, Norman Julius "Boomer" Esiason, the legendary NFL quarterback can be heard as part of Boomer and Gio, the morning drive sports radio talk show on WFAN in New York City.
Levi asked if he could call Esiason. It was a long shot at best. (Maybe a 'Hail Mary.')
"My parents let me try to call into WFAN today to try to talk to Boomer Esiason," he said noting that he was not about to give up trying despite what appeared to be little hope. Levi was far from the only person trying to call in to the sports talk radio show.
"We called 17 times ...all busy sounds," Levi said. "Then on the last try ...they picked up!"
"I got to be on the radio and TV to tell Boomer what I thought of his book," he said.
In an email from his mom to Patch, Levi said that since the book was published in 1994, "When my parents were kids," it should be re-published "for kids today."

That smile!
