Branford Fire Department 's 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Ended June 30, Its Busiest On Record: 7,369 Incidents

BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Fire Department noted that this now-past fiscal year, which ended June 30, hit an all-time high.

"A hot summer keeps getting hotter, as we close our busiest fiscal year on record," the department noted in a social media post. It responded to 7,369 incidents.

And in just the last week, it responded to many medical emergencies, automatic fire alarms, public service requests, a close-call fire, and a working car fire, it said.

The excessive heat doesn't help, as firefighting is a very heavy job, literally, with firefighters wearing 80 pounds of gear.

"It’s hot enough; slow down, take a chill, and be safe," the department advised.
