Branford Community Foundation Welcomes 3 New Board Members

BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Community Foundation, founded in 1980, recently welcomed three new board members.

Matt Fleming, Mark Law, and Nancy Patton are "active members of the community who are passionate about giving back, making them welcome additions to the BCF board," it was noted in a news release.

The Foundation's board is composed of community leaders who serve without compensation and who have been selected for their knowledge, interest, and integrity of judgment, it was noted.

Matt Fleming is a lifelong resident of North Branford who is passionate about giving back to the community he has always called home. He and his wife are proud to be raising their two daughters in North Branford, where they enjoy being active in local events and organizations. Matt has been actively
involved with the town’s youth soccer organization for many years. He also helped organize the Branford Community Foundation Charitable Golf Tournament, an annual fundraiser that has brought together local businesses, residents, and community leaders to support charitable initiatives of BCF
throughout town. Professionally, Matt has spent more than 20 years in the financial services industry. He currently serves as a private wealth advisor with Thimble Island Private Wealth in Branford, where he works closely with individuals and families to help them achieve their long-term financial goals.

Mark Law, an 18-year Branford resident and lifelong resident of the Connecticut shoreline, currently serves as the Chief Conduct and Ethics Officer at Citizens Bank, where he has been employed for the past two decades. Mark and his wife, Beth, have two teenage children: Matthew, a junior at the
University of Connecticut, and Rebecca, a sophomore at Branford High School. Mark has actively contributed to the local community by previously serving as a board member, vice president, and president for the Pine Orchard Association. Additionally, he has been a board member and chairperson
of Racquets for the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club. Mark and Beth are passionate supporters of the arts, with both their children being highly involved in the local theater communities and the Blackstone Library, where Beth served as a board member and President for many years. Mark is an
avid tennis player and a slowly improving golfer and is a staunch supporter of UConn athletics, both as a proud alumnus and an active fan.

Nancy Patton and her husband, Tom, have been members of the Branford community for nearly 30 years. After earning her law degree from Georgetown University, Nancy worked as an attorney for many years before dedicating much of her time to community service and nonprofit leadership. Over the past three decades, she has served on eight nonprofit boards, contributing her expertise in governance, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. Nancy has served as an academic advisor and board member for Guilford ABC for the past six years, including two years as Board President. She also recently served on the board of the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club for eight years, including two years as board president. Nancy is deeply committed to strengthening the
communities she serves and believes strongly in giving back through volunteer leadership.
