Peter Motti, Esq., 78 of Branford, passed away July 20, 2026 at the Artis House in Branford. He was born February 20, 1948 in New Haven to G. Peter and Helen (Malone) Motti. Peter is survived by his two children; Jeffrey Motti (Jennifer) of Gales Ferry, CT and Sarah Motti (Kyle Fischer) of Branford along with one grandson, Finnian Peter Motti. He is also survived by his three stepchildren; Forrest Page of Los Angeles, S. Reed Stamler of Branford, and Theodore Stamler of Guilford; along with many loving cousins. Peter is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Amy (Niland) and sister, Jean Motti.
Raised in East Haven, Peter graduated from East Haven High School. He continued his education at Seton Hall University before earning his JD from William & Mary Law School. Faith was an important part of his upbringing, and he served as an altar boy at St. Vincent de Paul Church. He made his home in Branford, where he built both his family life and law practice, serving his community for many years.
Peter had a lifelong love of sports, especially basketball, tennis, and, above all, golf. The golf course was one of his happiest places, and he cherished the many years spent playing in leagues alongside his close friends.
Peter loved his family and friends. He valued the time he spent with those he loved and was known for his wit, sense of humor, and ability to make others smile. Though he stood tall in stature, he was gentle in nature. His quiet kindness made all feel welcome: especially his big, blended family and friends. He will be remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the deep affection he had for the people who were fortunate enough to know him.
Family will receive friends on Saturday August 22, 2026 from 9 – 10:30 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will then leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a 10:45 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
