Branford Firefighters, Medics Respond to Car-Over-Seawall On Linden Avenue Thursday

BRANFORD, CT — Branford firefighters can tackle just about anything.

Thursday afternoon, Car 6, Engine 9, Rescue 2, and Medic 1 responded to a vehicle that had gone over the seawall on Linden Avenue, the department noted on social media.

Crews safely stabilized and accessed the vehicle and assisted with the removal of the operator, the department said.

One patient was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, officials said, and added that there were no firefighter injuries reported.

The vehicle was removed by United Towing, and, the fire department noted, crews also confirmed there were no fluids or other contaminants released into the Long Island Sound.

"Great work by all responding personnel and United Towing for a safe and coordinated operation," the department shared. And they advised motorists to "use caution along the shoreline and seawalls, particularly in areas with limited barriers or steep drop-offs."
