Robert David Rascati, 97 of Branford passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 at CT Hospice after a brief illness. He was born June 10, 1929 in New Haven to Frank and Caterina (Ferrara) Rascati. He is survived by his sister, Concetta Frase of Branford and a brother, Aldo Rascati of Branford along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Salvatore Rascati and a sister, Mary Alling.
Robert grew up in the Morris Cove section of New Haven, and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1947, proudly served in the US Navy and then graduated from the University of Miami. Robert worked at Clark, Hall and Peck in New Haven, Robinson Builders and was an interior decorator with Decorating Unlimited. He was a world traveler and could speak three different languages. He enjoyed gardening, literature, cooking and entertaining his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday September 11, 2026 from 4 to 6 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. All are welcome to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday September 12 at 10 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Bernadette, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven CT (Please go directly to the church on Saturday) with burial to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
