Residents Assist in Solving People's Bank Robbery: Branford Police Chief

A suspect has now been identified.

The people have done it again in helping police to solve a crime. Branford’s Police Chief Kevin Halloran took to Facebook to thank residents for helping them solve a bank robbery at People’s Bank.

PEOPLES BANK ROBBERY:

Thank you to those of you who provided us with information regarding the suspect in the Peoples Bank Robbery. With your help we were able to positively identify the suspect in the robbery and we have applied for an arrest warrant.

Original post on Sept. 18: Police are investigating after a reported bank robbery at People’s Bank in Branford Friday evening.

Branford Police responded to the reported bank robbery at 500 East Main Street around 5:30 p.m. The suspect was described as a white female with short dyed blonde hair, 5 feet 4 inches tall wearing a pink shirt, dark pants and dark sunglasses.

According to police, once the suspect left the bank, it is believed she got into the passenger side of a four-door silver or gray compact car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 203-481-4241.

Police did not provide information on how much money was taken from the bank.
