BCTV To Provide Regional Election Coverage For The First Time

BCTV's election coverage will have former state representative Democrat Lonnie Reed and Republican state senator Len Fasano as commentators.

BRANFORD, CT — For the first time, Branford Community Television, BCTV, will provide regional election night coverage Tuesday.

Its election night results coverage will cover Branford, North Branford and North Haven.

"This year's regional coverage is a joint effort of BCTV Branford, NHTV North Haven, and Totoket TV, North Branford," station manager Walter Mann said. "This will enable us to broadcast in a studio large enough to safely distance anchors, commentators, and production staff. The Totoket studio in North Branford is large enough to accomplish this."

The program will be anchored by former WTNH-8 anchor Kenn Venit and former WFSB-3 anchor/reporter Teale (Lucille) Caliendo.

BCTV's election coverage will include results and analysis from all three towns. Election results will be reported by district, not just by town.

"This means we would be providing a more complete picture for our viewers as the 12th Senate District and the 102nd State Representative District include more than one town," Mann said. "The 98th State Representative district falls completely within Branford."

BCTV's political commentators will include longtime Branford State Representative Lonnie Reed (D-102nd District) and longtime State Senator and State Senate Republican President Pro Tempore Len Fasano (R-34th District.)

Live coverage will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday via online streaming, on Comcast 18 or 1070 and Frontier 6004, or live on its Facebook page.
