BHS Alum Maggie Fitter Earns Little East Honors

Three Keene State College athletes were honored by the Little East last week, including Branford's Maggie Fitter; junior Ryan Widzgowski (Camden, Maine), who was named male track athlete of the week; and freshman Kelly Gilmore (Dedham, Mass.) as rookie diver of the week.

Fitter, a senior, was named female track athlete of the week. She paced Keene State College this past weekend at the New England Division III Championships, placing second in the 800-meter run and sixth in the mile.  The senior from Branford, covered the 800-meter course in 2:17.67, while crossing the finish line in the mile at 4:59.75. It’s the second week in a row and third time this season Fitter has earned the honor.
