Boat Hits Rock With 5 People On Board: Branford Fire Dep't

BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Fire Department helped rescue five people on board a boat that struck a rock near Clam Island Saturday night.
Fire officials said that a 23-foot boat with five people on board hit the rock near Clam Island around 6 p.m. Saturday.
The captain of the boat was able to get himself off the rock and the boat was escorted to Bruce and Johnson’s west by Stony Creek Rescue Fire Company 5, officials said. No injuries were reported. The boat was taking on water and was subsequently pulled from the water.
