While I enjoy the concept of a lush garden, actually navigating it and harvesting - or seeing what there is to harvest, for that matter - is decidedly frustrating. Especially with these bloody mosquitos dive bombing you at every movement. However, I finally picked one set of onions and though small, they smell good, are organic and are drying for use in the immediate future. There are more tomatoes growing after a verrrrry slow start, and I look forward to when the sizable fruit are actually red. Peppers abound and I knocked off a tomatillo (which to me says it was ripe anyway) and if I can figure out a way to get in there, there may already be a salsa-worthy haul to be had.
I still enjoy seeing growing things and tending to the garden, but I'm just about ready to neaten up the little plot and prep it for next year's experiment: lasagna gardening.
