The black sky the other day had me racing to get home to pull the potted plants off the porch down, lest the wind blow them asunder. I Didn't think about the now, more than three-feet-tall tomatillo plants! Out with the dogs the next morning, someone was missing from the garden scene and, to my dismay, two tomatillos had toppled (and yes, you should try that thrice fast). Thankfully, I still have some bamboo and it was that to the rescue. It looks like quite a few flowers are blooming on all of the tomatillos and it seems my controlled pulling of the runners is indeed forcing more berries and less splinter cells. Now, if I can only get to them before the ants...
