Captain's Log: Week Eleven - The Pepper Crop Cometh

Organic vegetable gardening grows on...

For the record, when I was planning out the garden, I really cut back on the number of seedlings I wanted to plant.  Instead of eight tomato plants, four.  Instead of a whole row of onions, four.  I thought I was being smart and leaving plenty of room to navigate in and around the plants as they grew.  In retrospect, I should have simply built a bigger garden, since the four of each plant have taken over the plot and become a near impassable thicket.  That, combined with the long arms laden with fruit that grow every which way but up, has forced me to bolster, brace, tie, and support these four tomato plants and three tomatillos and somehow still get to the pepper plants growing in and among them.

Weird scaffolding aside, there are finally tomatoes, the promise of a decidedly happy tomatillo harvest and serrano peppers are peeking out all over.  Now, if no one sneezes near the garden, my rigging should hold.  And now for the severe thunderstorm that is clapping overhead...
