Branford Baseball Star Mike Olt Signs with Boston Red Sox
BREAKING: Olt made the announcement Tuesday morning.

BRANFORD, CT – Hometown baseball star Mike Olt announced on his Instagram page that he has signed to play this coming season with the Boston Red Sox.
Olt, 28, who grew up in Branford, was a star at the University of Connecticut, and went to be a number one draft choice of the Texas Rangers, is a third baseman. He most recently played with the San Diego Padres organization.

He’s also played with Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox.
He has hit 16 home runs in his major league career.

On his Instagram page, Olt says: “Very excited to make things official and announce that I am lucky enough to be signing with the Boston Red Sox for 2017.
“Been one hell of a journey but I truly think everything happens for a reason and this will be an opportunity of a lifetime,” says Olt.
“Excited for what lies ahead.”
