BRANFORD, CT — After being shuttered for a two days, water quality testing shows it's safe to return to the shore for swimming and shell fishing, town officials announced Friday, though it's not the best beach day with a Tropical Storm looming.
Wednesday Patch reported that 2.1 million gallons of raw sewage spilled from the Greater New Haven Wastewater Treatment Plant into the Mill River. Beaches from West Haven to Madison were closed.
