Branford Board of Finance Pays Tribute To Former Member Who Passed Away

The former official was active and volunteered in numerous local organizations.

BRANFORD, CT – The most recent Board of Finance meeting was a somber one as members paid tribute to a recently resigned member who just passed away on September 11.

Ken Kaminsky, a member of the Board of Finance for 16 years until his resignation a few weeks ago, was remembered.

Finance Board Chairman Joseph Mooney said Kaminsky, 79, “was a banker who understood business and finance.”

Mooney noted that Kaminsky was an active volunteer on many organizations – including “The Branford Yacht Club, The Quinnipiac Club, St. Raphael’s Hospital, The Clelian Center in Hamden, The Branford Fire Commission, and the Board of Finance.”

“He was fiscally responsible but compassionate,” said Mooney.

Mooney noted that Kaminsky’s wife, Janet, was Branford’s long-time tax collector.
