Branford Budget Will Result In Slight Tax Increase: Report

BRANFORD, CT — The final approved budget for fiscal 2019-20 will be $115.29 million which will result in a slight tax increase for residents, the New Haven Register reports.

The RTM unanimously approved the budget. A proposal to reduce the Board of Education's budget increase by $200,000 failed to secure enough votes.

Raises of 2 percent were approved for the positions of second and third selectmen and treasurer. Raises of 2.5 percent were approved for the town clerk and tax collector positions, the Register reports.
