Branford Community Builds Lasting Memorial For Ben Callahan
Ben, 10, tragically drowned in July and the community continues to mourn his loss.

BRANFORD, CT – The community has come together to build a lasting memorial to a 10-year-old boy who drowned in July while swimming with his brothers in the Branford River.
The memorial at the corner of Montowese Street and Tabor Drive is a few hundred yards away from where Ben Callahan drowned.

The memorial has a rock engraved with “Our Warrior #2” on it. Ben was known to friends and family by the nickname “Warrior.”
While many community organizations came together to put the memorial together, there is another memorial that continues to prosper at the exact location where Ben drowned, right down the street.

Sports trophies, flowers and other photos and memories of Ben are at that site – which still gets daily visitors from Branfordites.
