Branford Country Club Accused of Rejecting Muslim Family for Membership: Report
Kamran Farid, a co-founder of the Edible Arrangements empire, has filed a lawsuit against Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club.

BRANFORD, CT — Kamran Farid, a businessman and co-founder of the Edible Arrangements gift basket empire, reportedly is suing Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club in Branford because he claims the club rejected his family due to their Muslim faith.
Farid was a temporary member for two years, but his application for permanent inclusion in the club was turned down, in part, as he told the New York Daily News, because some other members sent racist letters in opposition to him joining.
He claims the club currently has no minority members, but the club denies turning down Farid, or any other applicant, based on race or religion.
