Branford Election 2016 Results: Big Night for Democrats

On Election Day here's information on all the candidates, polling places and more.

BRANFORD, CT — It was a good night for Democrats in Branford.

State Sen. Ted Kennedy Jr. won re-election to a second term by defeating his challenger Bruce Wilson on Election Night, the New Haven Register reports. Democratic state Rep. Lonnie Reed, of Branford, defeated her challenger Christopher Kelly to earn a fifth-term, the Register also reports.

Sean Scanlon, a state representative and Democrat, ran unopposed.

BRANFORD, CT — Branford residents head to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 midterm election. Polling places in Branford close at 8 p.m. On the ballot, registered voters in Branford will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters.

In Branford the choice for 12th Senatorial District is Democratic candidate Edward Kennedy Jr. and Republican candidate Bruce Wilson Jr. Kennedy is completing his first term. Wilson is a Madison resident.

In the 102nd State House District the Democratic candidate is Lonnie Reed and the Republican candidate is Christopher Kelly. Reed is completing her fourth term as a state representative. Kelly is a member of the Branford Planning and Zoning Commission.

In the 98th State House District Democrat Sean Scanlon is running unopposed. Scanlon is completing his first term.

Democrat Daniel J. Hally and Republican Marion E. Bukard are the candidates for registrar of voters.

The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.

For United States Senate the candidates are Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.

For United States Congress the choice is between Incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat and Angel Cadena, a Republican.
