Branford Finance Board Approves $12.5 Million for New Community House Project: Report

The project still needs RTM approval before construction could begin.

BRANFORD, CT — The Board of Finance voted recently to approve $12.5 million for a new Branford Community House, which will include a combined senior center and Community House, the Branford Seven reports.

The project still requires RTM approval, which may happen as early as mid-December. The town is looking to sell the Canoe Brook Center and may receive approximately $500,000 which would reduce the project's overall price tag, the Branford Seven reports.

The project will give seniors more space, a better location, and more access to exercise rooms and a gym, the Seven reports. Officials hope to begin construction in June if funding is approved.
