Branford Fire Department Honored for its Service

Several members of The Branford Professional Firefighters Local 2533 were honored with unit citations Monday, May 18 at an awards luncheon at New Haven Sponsor Hospital.

The luncheon and awards ceremony marked the beginning of national EMS week. These two particular unit citations were awarded in recognition of the life saving efforts the responders provided on scene and en route to the ED.

The New Haven Regional Medical Director chose from thousands of medical emergencies the Branford Fire Dept. responded to in 2014. These two particular calls involved patients that were suffering from cardiac arrest.

Both were able to recover and were released from the Hospital.

“We would also like to congratulate all of the providers from the New Haven Sponsor Hospital region that received awards yesterday. Strong work by all,” the Branford Fire Union wrote on Facebook.
