Branford Firefighters Honored For Lifesaving Measures

"For exceptional and professional effort during a cardiac arrest, resulting in the preservation of quality of life" the citations read.

BRANFORD, CT — The pandemic scuttled the ceremony that was supposed to be held to honor these Branford heroes. But their lifesaving efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Crews from Branford Fire Department were awarded Unit Citations for two successful cardiac arrest resuscitations in 2019, one in May and one in September.

"For exceptional and professional effort during a cardiac arrest, resulting in the preservation of quality of life" the citations given by the Yale-New Haven Hospital Center for EMS read.

"These are complex incidents that require a highly trained well orchestrated team to be successful," the department wrote on Facebook.
