Branford First Selectman Decides His Political Future

James B. Cosgrove has revealed whether he'll seek a second-term as first selectman.

Branford Republican First Selectman James B. Cosgrove decided on Tuesday to make it official and that he will seek a second-term of office, according to the New Haven Register.

Cosgrove said he always planned to seek a second term and is committed to seeing through several projects including the redevelopment of the Senior Center, finding a permanent home for the Public Works Department, and addressing school building issues.

Top Republicans say they are thrilled Cosgrove is seeking reelection and Democrats say they haven’t found a candidate yet, but several people are interested in running.
