Branford High School presents "Titanic" March 22-26, 2017

Branford High School, Theater, Arts & Entertainment

Branford High School Performing Arts will present Titanic as its spring musical production, March 22-26, 2017. With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone, Titanic opened on Broadway in 1997 and went on to win five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Titanic is set on the ocean liner RMS Titanic which sank on its maiden voyage. Billed as “The Largest Floating Object in The World,” the Titanic was already international news when it set out from London on April 10, 1912. But five days into the voyage, the ship deemed “unsinkable” sank in the Atlantic, killing over 1500 men, women, and children.

In this epic musical, Yeston and Stone tell the stories of the people on board the fated ocean liner and the men who got them there. With a compassionate book and captivating melodies, Titanic conveys the tragic story through memorable characters based on the real life men and women who lived it.
