Essential Functions:
The purposes of this position are to provide confidential, administrative, and billing services in support of Human Services. Able to receive, review, respond to and appropriately refer inquiries and requests for information related to insurance coverage, bills, grants, town budget accounts and payroll. The work involves attention to detail to maintain accurate billing and records. A Medical Billing/Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.
Minimum Required Qualification:
Education, Training and Experience:The qualifications required would generally be acquired with a High School Diploma; Associates Degree and/or certification from an accredited secretarial school or 3 years of business, accounting or municipal experience, related work experience preferably in a medical office, etc; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Requirements: Valid CT Driver’s License

The Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.
The files of all qualified candidates will be maintained for a minimum of six months from the announcement date, and the qualified candidates will be considered for the same or similar positions which may become available during this timeframe.
All candidates must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test given at the Town's expense.
The Town of Branford conducts background investigations for all positions prior to hiring. Refusal to sign the release form will terminate the candidate from further consideration.
