TOWN OF BRANFORD POSTING HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR THE POSITION OF Truck Driver/Laborer in the Public Works Department

$23.90/Hour
Applications will be accepted until January 4th at 4:30 pm
40 hour per week

Essential Functions:
Performs all necessary work to maintain the Town road system in good condition. Cut, clean up and dispose of windstorm debris and roadside trash and delivers to Transfer Station. Plow snow, sand and salt highways as required by storm conditions. Operate wood chipper. Replace traffic signs May be required to paint interior walls and trim.

Minimum Required Qualification:
High School graduate or GED equivalent. Four (4) years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must maintain a valid CDL State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operators license, Class B

Selection Guidelines:
Formal application; rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference check; and job related tests are required.

The Town of Branford reserves the right to limit the number of qualified candidates who will be considered for the position.

The files of all applicants will be maintained for a minimum of six months from the announcement date, and qualified candidates may be considered for the same of similar positions that may become available during the six month timeframe.
All candidates not currently employed by the Town of Branford must successfully pass a post-offer medical examination, which includes a substance abuse test given at the Town’s expense.
