Branford Man Possessed 1,700 Images of Child Pornography: Police
Police say the accused was released after posting a $100,000 bond. He was also charged back in 2015 with first-degree sexual assault.

UPDATE: This is not the first time that Frank Cole has been arrested in Branford. In a prior incident, police at the time said Cole is accused of sexually assaulting a minor between June 2011 and January 2014.
He was arrested July 22, 2015 and charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. No other details were released.
BRANFORD, CT - A local man has been charged with possession of child pornography but Branford police say none of the images involves a child in town.

Police arrested Frank Cole, 67, of 148 East Main Street, Branford, Monday after obtaining an arrest warrant for possession of child pornography.
The arrest warrant stemmed from an investigation involving Cole in late 2014, police said.

Detective Arthur Ferris, who lead the investigation, said detective’s allegedly uncovered approximately 1,700 images from Cole’s computer after it was seized by police and later analyzed by the Connecticut State Police Forensic Laboratory, police said in a news release.
Ferris said, according to the news release, that once the images were recovered, detectives worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to determine the identity of approximately 50 children, many of which were located in other countries.
Ferris also said, “As far as we can determine, none of the photos have been connected to any children in Branford.” Cole was released on a $100,000 bond.
