Branford Mechanic Finds Drugs, Cash Hidden in Car's Undercarriage: PD

Police arrested the vehicle's owner and they found cocaine, crack cocaine, Molly and a large sum of cash hidden in the car.

BRANFORD, CT - Police were called to Branfon Honda Wednesday after mechanics discovered a large amount of drugs secured to the undercarriage of a customer's vehicle while they were servicing the car.

When they put the car on the lift the case broke and drugs fell out, police said.

The customer, Kevlon Hutchings, 33, of 76 Terrace St. New Haven was waiting for his car to be serviced when Branford Police Detectives took him into custody.

The investigation revealed that Hutchings was allegedly in possession of approximately 15 grams of powder cocaine, approximately 15 grams of crack cocaine, 1 capsule of “Molly,” drug packaging material, and $1,776 in cash.

Hutchings was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession 1,500 feet from school. Hutchings posted a $25,000 bond.
