Branford Medical Marijuana Dispensary Moving to Larger Location: Report

BRANFORD, CT — Bluepoint Wellness, which opened the town's medical marijuana dispensary in 2014 at 469 East Main St., has received approval to move across the street to a new expanded facility, the Branford Eagle reports.

The new address will be 471 East Main Street and it will include the entire first floor of the now empty Sovereign/Santander Bank, the Eagle reports. The Planning and Zoning Commission approved the request last week with some conditions.

When the current facility opened it treated 400 patients and that has swelled to 2,500 patients. Necessitating the move is that the state is allowing medical marijuana to be used by children in certain cases as of Oct. 1.
