Branford Meeting Wednesday Concerning Controversial Dropped Rail Plans
Officials will discuss what is next after the FRA dropped initial plans to double rail capacity between Branford and Guilford.

BRANFORD, CT — There will be a public Information meeting on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 7:00 at Branford Fire Department Headquarters to hear information concerning the recent announcement by the Federal Railroad Administration’s to drop the controversial plans to double the rail capacity between Branford and Guilford. Although this was welcomed news for the potentially impacted towns, it raises questions about what’s next.
Gregory Stroud, Director of Special Projects at the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation will discuss the announcement, assess the possibility that these plans will be revisited, and take questions from the public.
