From Branford Food Pantry:The 2nd annual Branford open was played this past weekend at the Pine Orchard Country Club 5/18/2019. Todd Mckienan a long time Branford resident organized the golf tournament. Mckiernan remembers this tournament being a great event for the community in the 70's 80's and wanted to bring it back, with an additional element to support one of Branford's wonderful non-profits The Branford Food Pantry.This event is an open invitation to the areas best golfers and is a individual gross ball tournament. This year the field lined with 48 golfers on a beautiful Saturday morning. Finale scores posted revealed a three way tie for first, Ken Burton, Chris Yarden and Jeff Torello all shot a 76. A playoff pursued starting on the 1st hole, where Ken Burton(pictured below)came away the Victor. This Year the event raised over $1000 dollars
