Branford Planning & Zoning Approves 6 Month Moratorium on Duplexes

The commission voted last week to approve a six month moratorium on oversized duplexes.

BRANFORD, CT – The Planning & Zoning Commission voted unanimously last week to approve a six month moratorium on oversized duplexes, the Branford Eagle reported.

New applications for duplexes and multi-family homes in R-1 zones will be subject to the six month moratorium, according to the Branford Eagle. These zones are located in areas of the Town Center, Branford Hills and a small part of Brushy Plain Road.

The moratorium will begin Aug. 15, the Branford Eagle reported. It is hoped the new policy will give the commission time to take a closer look at these particular zones.
