Branford Police Announce Bank Robbery Arrest

Police say a New Haven woman turned herself into police on Friday.

Edith Hodak, 452 Middletown Avenue in New Haven turned herself in on an arrest warrant in connection with the Friday, September 18 robbery of the People’s Bank at 500 East Main St in Branford, police said Friday afternoon.

Hodak was charged with second-degree robbery and fifth-degree larceny and she was released on a written promise to appear in Superior Court on October 20.

Citizens who responded to our requests were assistance in identifying the suspect from bank video surveillance were critical to our identification of Hodak and her subsequent arrest today,” police said.
