Branford police logs, Aug. 17-24:

Aug. 17

Joseph C. DeMaio, 36, of New Haven, was charged with first-degree failure to appear and second-degree failure to appear.

Aug. 19

James Hayden, 19, of Branford, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Aug. 20

Michelle S. Perez Velin, 21, of Branford, was charged with risk of injury to a child, first-degree criminal trespass, violation of a protective order, second-degree custodial interference, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree violation of a conditional release, and disorderly conduct.

Luis Chumil, 24, of Branford, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Twyla Newton, 24, of West Haven, was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny.

Aug. 24

James Thompson, 58, of New Haven, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.
