Branford Police Find Crack Cocaine, Heroin, and an Infant in Motel Room

Branford Police say they charged Jellybean Quintana, 29), of an unknown address; Ivan Bruno, 29 of Terrace Street, New Haven, and Heather Kydon, 31, of 224 Crosswood Road, Branford just after 10 p.m. Sunday in their motel room at Motel 6, at 320 East Main Street after police allegedly found heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, packaging supplies and other drug paraphernalia in their room.

Police Sgt. John Alves, who supervised the investigation, said that Officer Matthew Clerkin’s attention was drawn earlier in the evening to a suspicious white van parked in the motel parking lot.

Clerkin saw Quintana leaving the van and enter into the motel. Alves said when Clerkin learned that the van was not properly registered, he and Officers Jay Kaufman and Amber Radomski went to interview Quintana at his room, police said.

During the interview, officers observed drug paraphernalia and other drugs located in plain view inside of the motel room which was occupied by Quintana, Bruno, Kydon as well as Bruno’s girlfriend and their infant child, police said.

Alves said when the officers determined the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to Quintana, Bruno and Kydon, they were arrested. Also in close proximity to the three arrested, police discovered packaged heroin, crack cocaine and packaging supplies for the distribution of the illegal narcotics, police said.

Bruno and Quintana were charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession or narcotics (Heroin); possession of narcotics (Crack Cocaine); possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of narcotics (Heroin) with intent to sell; possession of narcotics (Crack Cocaine) with intent to sell; possession of marijuana < ½ oz.

Both were held on a $10,000 bond. In addition, Quintana was held on outstanding arrest warrants from New Haven and the Connecticut State Police.

Kydon was charged with possession or narcotics (Heroin); possession of narcotics (Crack Cocaine); possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana < ½ oz. Kydon was released on a written promise to appear in New Haven Court on May 19, 2015.
