Branford Police Continue Untimely Death Investigation Involving Man, 28

Police said the Chief State Medical Examiner's report is inconclusive until the victim's toxicology report returns.

BRANFORD, CT – Police said Tuesday they are continuing to investigate the death of Joseph Miller, 28, of Yowago Avenue, who was found dead on Aug. 31.

Miller was found on land owned by the Town of Branford known as the “Tabor Property,” according to a release.

Chief Kevin Halloran said in the release that the Chief State Medical Examiner’s report is inconclusive until the return of Miller’s toxicology report, which could take up to six weeks. The focus of the detective’s investigation has changed from “suspicious” in nature and is now labeled as an untimely death.

“By all indication from our investigators thus far, we do not believe the public is at risk or the area is unsafe in any way,” Halloran said in the release. “Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friend of Mr. Miller as they grieve their loss.”

Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Branford Police immediately.
