Branford Police Officers Will Host Dunk-A-Cop for Special Olympics at Town Green
This is a family event which has attractions for kids of all ages.

BRANFORD, CT — Officers with the Branford Police Department will host a Dunk-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut at the Branford Town Green on Saturday, August 6th from 11a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
During the event, officers will be volunteering to get dunked in a dunk tank to raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Connecticut. This is a family event which has attractions for kids of all ages. In addition, there will be face painting, music, food, raffle prizes and serval local food vendors. All proceeds donated go to Special Olympics Connecticut to support its year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities.

About the Special Olympics Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run®
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. This year-round program involves law enforcement officers from across the state who volunteer their time to raise awareness and funds through events including Tip-a-Cops, Cop-on-Tops, and Jail N’ Bail fundraisers.

In addition, each year in June, over 1,500 officers and athletes carry the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" through hundreds of cities and towns across the state, covering over 530 miles over three days. The runners run the “Final Leg” and light the ceremonial cauldron during Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games.
