Branford Police Patrol Officer Earns Promotion: Call Him Sergeant Now
Before joining the BPD 7 years ago, he was an Air Force Sp. Ops enabler, and at Providence College, was a Division 1 swimmer.

BRANFORD, CT — Branford Police Department patrol officer Mike Loftis is now Sgt. Mike Loftis, police announced Monday.
Loftis is a seven-year veteran of the department. Before joining the BPD, he was a Security Forces Special Operations Enabler with the U.S. Air Force. Loftis earned a BA from Providence College, where he competed on their Division 1 swim team, earning many awards and accolades, police noted.
Loftis has been the department’s TRIAD (Senior Citizen Services) Representative, a Field Training Officer, Intoxilyzer Instructor, Drone Operator and is also on the Marine Unit.
