Branford Road Race Expects Over 100 to Attend Parkinson's Disease Workshop!

Branford, CT – The Branford Road Race invites you to join the inaugural Parkinson’s Disease Workshop on Saturday, June 4! The workshop takes place at the Branford Firehouse (45 North Main Street, Branford) from 1-4pm. The event is presented by Medtronic and discusses cutting edge research and practical knowledge available today about Parkinson’s. The workshop features a variety of experts including:

• Duarte Machado, MD: Assistant Professor of Neurology; Lead Neurologist at Yale Health Center
• David Russell, MD. PhD: Associate Director of Clinical Research at Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders
• Michelle Hespeler: Owner/Founder of Beat PD Today
• Michael Demetriades, DPT: Licensed Physical Therapist at Amity Physical Therapy

The Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson’s and the ALS Connecticut Chapter are the signature charities for the 2016 Branford Road Race. The Father’s Day road race takes place on Sunday, June 19. Race organizers expect a crowd of over 3,000 participants to take part in the 5-Mile Road Race, 2-Mile Fitness Walk and 1-Mile Kids Fun Run. The race is one of the country’s largest 5-mile races and one of New England’s top running events. The race kicks off the final day of the Branford Festival, a community celebration that attracts thousands.
