Branford Rotary Swing into Spring Golf Tourney in June 2017

The Branford Rotary Club announces its 6th annual Spring Golf Classic on Monday, June 5, situated at the scenic Clinton Country Club, 128 Old Post Road, Clinton.

The Club is a new venue for the event. Established in 1895, the Clinton Country Club is one of the oldest in the country. The 18-hole course, designed by Geoffrey Cornish, is both challenging and beautiful.

The schedule for the tourney is as follows: 10:00 am: registration, driving range & putting green open; 11:00 am: lunch; 12:00 pm: shotgun start (scramble); 5:00 pm: cocktail hour (open bar); 6:00 pm: dinner, raffle, and auction.

Prizes to be awarded include Longest Drive, Men & Women Closest to the Pin, Gross Score for 1st, 2nd and last place, and HOLE-IN-ONE. There will be a few surprises this year as well.

Registration is $175 per golfer. Appropriate attire is required. Spikeless shoes are required, and jeans are prohibited. Spectators are welcome. Dinner is available for non-golfers at $25. Sponsorships are encouraged and will be posted throughout the beautiful Clinton Country Club golf course. Spectators are welcome.

The Branford Rotary tournament is a fundraiser for designated charities. Proceeds will benefit the Branford Counseling Center Basic Needs Program, Feed Branford Kids, local veterans’ groups, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Soundview YMCA Annual Campaign, Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and Y-NHH Male Breast Cancer Van Wilgen Fund.

The Branford Rotary Golf Tourney committee consists of the following members who have organized the event: Patricia Andriole, Jim Carpenter, Peter Cimino, Dean DeNegris, Dave Kozma, Chris Manna, Gerry Mann, Vince Ragonese, Doug Shaw, Hap Storer, Tony Terry, Alpha Coiro, and Ed Viscovi (event originator). Club members will work onsite the day of the tournament, assisting with food preparation, setting up signs throughout the course, and operating the silent auction.
