Branford RTM Agrees to Advance Walsh Intermediate School Project Forward: Report

If the project becomes a reality, it will be the largest in the town's history.

Branford, CT - The largest construction project in the town's history moved a bit closer to reality this month, the Branford Eagle reports.

The approximately $88.2 million expansion and renovation project at Walsh Intermediate School, which would include approximately $30 million in state grants, was approved by the RTM this month.

What this means is that local school officials can apply for state grant money to help reduce the burden on local taxpayers, the Branford Eagle reports.

However, some RTM members expressed concern about the state funding its share in light of news of more cuts to municipal aid earlier this month. Walsh Intermediate School was constructed in 1972.
