Branford’s Mike Olt Assigned to Red Sox AAA Franchise

BRANFORD, CT – Branford’s Mike Olt has been assigned to the Boston Red Sox AAA franchise in Pawtucket to open the 2017 baseball season.

Olt, 28, signed a contract in the off season to play with Red Sox organization.

Olt, who is listed as a third baseman, but who also can play first base and some outfield, was a star at the University of Connecticut, and went to be a number one draft choice of the Texas Rangers, is a third baseman. He most recently played with the San Diego Padres organization.

He’s also played with Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox.

He has hit 16 home runs in his major league career.
