BRANFORD, CT – Good news for those who are frequent visitors to Branford’s Stony Creek area – you’ll soon have real bathrooms to use instead of a row of portable potties.
The Representative Town Meeting recently voted 17-8 to approve $100,000 in bonding to put up a restroom trailer facility in the popular tourist area – perhaps as soon as this summer.

But approving the expenditure wasn’t quick and easy – as the RTM talked it over a full 90 minutes before eventually approving it.
RTM moderator Dennis Flanagan seemed to express the feelings best of those who didn’t go along with the majority when he said considering the tax implications residents may face due to the state’s threatened multi-million dollar funding cuts to Branford.
Flanagan, said, while he understands the toilets are “obviously an issue’’ with people in Stony Creek, “How can you tell the taxpayers of Branford we are going to raise your taxes but we spent $100,000 to put toilets in Stony Creek.”
